Could you tell us a bit more about how you practice? Do you press the strings down very hard? Do you do lots of bends? then you might need to change to a lighter string gauge, until the pain is gone. It is important to keep a steady practice routine and in a matter of days/weeks your fingertips will develop caluses and become harder. THis will allow you to press the string very hard and not to feel pain. Also if you do epxerience pain, you must stop always, since you can only damage your fingers, nerves and muscels. Seriously, that's not good at all!, it's normal for the fingers to be a bit sore at the beginning, but don't overdo it. If you bleed you are not doing it right, take it slow.
