if your a new player your fingers will develop caluses (sp) and it may make your finger tips sore. if thats the case maybe take a little break if they are really sore where u cant play a note. i dont suggest playing till they bleed wink.gif

Yeah, they shouldn't be bleeding. Mine have never bled, though of course they were sore starting out.. as it was for everyone. But if they're bleeding, stop O_o

-That's definitely a bad thing!
Could you tell us a bit more about how you practice? Do you press the strings down very hard?
Do you do lots of bends? then you might need to change to a lighter string gauge, until the pain is gone.

Well you shouldn't tense up your hands at ALL! Not to talk about bleeding! It is important to keep a steady practice routine and in a matter of days/weeks your fingertips will develop caluses and become harder. THis will allow you to press the string very hard and not to feel pain. Also if you do epxerience pain, you must stop always, since you can only damage your fingers, nerves and muscels. They are very resilient, but also very sensitive.

There is this saying "No pain, no gain" but you should definitely NOT take this serious, so bleeding is not good at all.

Seriously, that's not good at all!, it's normal for the fingers to be a bit sore at the beginning, but don't overdo it. If you bleed you are not doing it right, take it slow.

Slowly your fingertips will develop calluses and you'll be fine, but you should avoid injuries!

On contrary man ! You should stop immediately if you feel ANY pain! Your fingers will build up blisters and everything in time , just don't rush it !
