Whammy "schirrp" Lesson?

Basicly what you do is hit a note and then either pull the whammy bar _up_ very quicky and let go so it quickly vibrates a short moment or you could lock your whammy bar to the back of the guitar and hit it quickly. Would like a lesson on how to play simple melodies with this technique. I can make the basic sound easily, but I have problem getting clean "schirrps" when playing short melodies. Posts: 866 Joined: 6-February 09 From: Manchester, UK	I say it does come under the category of whammy bar technique, it's just another useful tool to have in ones box of tricks. As Wilska pointed out, it's when you "bounce" the whammy bar to give a fast vibrato effect, very much the same as when you hold a ruler at the edge of a desk and flick the end of it to get a "schripp" sound It can be integrated into your playing as you see fit - muting the unwanted strings with the fretting hand should be done with any whammy bar technique such as this. Yeah that's exactly the technique I was trying to explain, but you did it much better =) I'm just gonna keep practicing, I really enjoy the sound of it. Tho it shouldn't be used too often!
