that's right, breaks are good and healthy, even if your fingers are weaker, your mind is refreshed.
from time to time i stop playing guitar, for like a month, and after that i usually got a super creative time, not sure why but maybe it will work for you too -------------------- Check my Instructor Profile Rockers! When I go on vacation I take my shredneck and it's good for ten days or so, but 5 weeks might be too long. Gripmaster won't help mintaining calluses (I've got the red one but never use it), as it only exercises the fingers.
Nothing beats a real guitar obviously, but the shredneck is the best solution I've found so far for vacations Her's a wiki I wrote about it: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/wiki/index.php/Shredneck -------------------- Guitars:
Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster, Ibanez RG2570MZ, Epiphone SG G-400 Amp: Vox AC4TVH head + V112TV cab Effects: Vox Satchurator, Vox Time Machine, Dunlop CryBaby, Boss MT-2, Boss CE-5, Boss TU-2, Boss ME-70 Recording: Line-6 POD X3 + FBV-Express, Pandora PX5D GMC wants YOU to take part in our Guitar-Wikipedia! 7 months is way too long!!!! how come???? Too long indeed, but needs must.. I'll probably have to start back at "how to tune your guitar" when I come back to it; it feels like a lifetime of not playing. As to the why: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...mp;#entry387850 |

That happens to me when I don't play for 2 weeks or more. I found that after 2 days only I'm back in shape. Practicing is the only key and try not to lose the continuity. Even if you go for a holiday take acoustic guitar with you and have fun or find a guitar store and go jam for 10 min at least
