Some days ago, I sold my pod x3 live, via ebay, with no problems, to a rich looking russian dude. Today he calls me back saying the pod has problems that I never heard before, saying the distortion was low and the cleans were high. I arranged to meet up with him this friday near my school to check it. The situation is, I went to check his feedback on ebay, even though it's all positie, he bought at least 5 pods in the last 3 months. being 2 of them, more and less a month before he bought mine, so I'm starting to wonder if he's trying to rip me off. What do you guys think I should do? Hmmm, call CIA will make no sense anymore in my belief, I guess You have to tell him that it is a special anti-Stalin version that is supposed to scare all comy's in the neighbourhood.... Nah, jokes aside, maybe he is buying them to sell them when going back to Russia??? You can always give him the money back......... //Staffay EDIT: And btw. tell him about my robot-pedal, maybe he's up for some trading ???? I suggest you don't get in the same car with him and that you bring a couple of tough friends on friday
Can you check if you can contact any of the previous sellers to hear their story? Sounds like there could be a scam where ther big idea is to end up with a positive on ebay, the POD and your money. Just make sure he never carries both the pod and the money at the same time. -------------------- My bands homepage

What do you guys think I should do? Maybe Russian is just a false nationality, my bet is that he's a member of the Chinese Triads. Now this is how you proceed: Find out if he's a major or minor triad when you meet him, record his voice thus identifying the pitch. Also identify the inversion and then you can deduce the key. You then search for example "Bb major triad" on Google maps, acquire Staffy's pedal, and blow the crap out of their headquarters. Good luck, and remember, never look him in the eyes. That will be an easy task to determine: If he plays pentatonics with two notes on one time (quarters), he's definitely in the triads. If he dances sitting on the floor while playing, its the russian mob. He can also be a member of the colombian drug syndicate, hallucinating when listening to the POD.... -------------------- Guitars: Ibanez AM-200, Ibanez GB-10, Fender Stratocaster Classic Player, Warmouth Custom Built, Suhr Classic Strat, Gibson Les Paul Standard 2003, Ibanez steel-string Amps: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, Marshall JMP 2103, AER 60 Effects: BOSS DD-20, Danelectro Trans. I delayed the meeting to buy me some time. I planted the impression that I was going to leave my school next week. Also, we had some discussions where I finally achieved that the only problem he was having, was with the phone entry, the rest is fine. He said the direct out works fine, so he can use the pod. Also the USB is fine for recording, the only thing that doesn't seem to be is the phone entry, but he claims it's a motherboard malfunction o.O. I told him to go to the shop and let the pros handle that. I filed a question on Ebay asking what to do and was told not to refund or not to meet him, so I'll probably block his phone number and that's that. He doesn't know where I live, even if he did I'm moving in August, let's just hope he doesn't go searching for me at school. Well resolved -------------------- My bands homepage

Hm, could be a simple misunderstanding, could be something else...
I mean, if he doesn't like it, he doesn't like it.... You get your POD back, he gets money. -------------------- |

You sold him a working unit, a fair deal. If he want's to file a police report, big deal, it'll go from desk to bin in an instant. I wouldn't worry about that. Btw, what if Line6 returns the unit claming there's nothing wrong, are you sure he'll return your £11,50. If I were you and I knew I sold him a working unit I'd stop posting on eBay, taking his calls etc. I'd be done with it already. Whatever you decide, good luck. -------------------- My bands homepage
