Hi there!

I´m Eirik from Norway. I recently signed up, the reason for signing up on this site is because I got great feedback from a friend (guitarist obviously) that if I wanted to learn to play, you guys could help me.

I began guitar playing a few years back but didn´t have the motivation to continue playing. BUT now that I´m in a band I have all the motivation I need. I´ve played in a band for the past 2 years, and no I do not play guitar, I play drums. We play sort of the Punk-Rock style. Although I play in a Punk-Rock band, I´ve chosen to learn Acoustic guitar. The reason is simple, I like the sweet and soft sound of a wooden box :P

So I´m looking forward to expand my musical experience in Acoustic guitar playing here on GMC!

Welcome! smile.gif I'm Todd and I'm one of the instructors here @ GMC. I teach a Video Chat Lesson every Saturday @ 10PM GMT so do stop by! Your friend is right by the way, you have come to the righ spot! If you want to get better at guitar, this is honestly the place to be smile.gif Jump right and in join in a collab, join some video chats, ask questions in the forums, go nuts! smile.gif

We don't do much accoustic stuff in my chats, more about scales/licks but I have been wanting to make an accoustic lesson. Sounds like I've got yet another reason smile.gif

Welcome aboard Eirik, you came to the right place. We can help you with anything you need, just let us know. There is an array of lessons and courses here, that are suitable for any level. Not sure where you are with the guitar, if you learned chords or started doing scales, so check out these series, I'm sure you will find something interesting. For any additional info or explanations, be sure to let us know, so we can help you:

Also, check some of Gab's lessons on punk/pop, I think they are excellent. You can play them on acoustic as well

My favorite acoustic guitar players are guys from Norway, like Oystein Sunde and Jarle Bernhoft. I don´t know if you have heard of them, but they are awesome on an acoustic.
