The title needs some explanation.

Yesterday I had just picked up the guitar and started noodling through some Dm arpeggio when a loud car goes past outside. The noise from the exhaust perfectly harmonised with me by droning out a loud note in D ! Random.. but excellent ! biggrin.gif

Has something like this happened to you ?

Of course biggrin.gif I do it with the dust cleaner sound laugh.gif I usually like to invent melodies over the tone that it delivers while cleaning the house - it's not that unexepected as the car, but the effect is very pleasing tongue.gif

My new next door neighbour was playing acoustic guitar out in his garden the other week, so I changed the key I was practicing in to match his playing, I'm not sure if he heard me out of the window

Hehe now that is some smooth "incognito" jamming smile.gif

I would usually hear rhythms in the nature and hearing such a "groove" developing always puts a smile on my face.
Also, I can't really ignore the turn signal in my car - it sounds like a metronome and I immediately need to start playing or drumming something over it smile.gif

That one! Yes, yes, it's clearly something I did a lot of times. You know, there are a lot of folks that get uber irritated when someone like us starts humming or tapping a groove to something around them. I never understood why laugh.gif They are some sort of Harry Potter muggles or something, but in the musical way!

usually it is the sound of my wife's (lovely voice )," I have heard that riff so many times , I can play it , why can't you yet". of course I have not found the right harmonies yet

Maybe her vocal phrasing is more like fusion ?

I used to hum along to the sound the water would make in the shower, I don't know if that counts. Also, I had someone outside do some loud hammering/drilling/similar before and it made a nice drum background, but I didn't have my guitar with me unfortunately.

Lately, I have been setting up my amp out on my front deck and mimicking the calls of the loons on the lake, a fun game of call and response. biggrin.gif
