hi

i replay with a too late train, i juste start to read the topic, but not entierely, it's late now, i think sleeping is requiered

so about the sad pictures i have done two track , one shoot for each, full of errorsn faults , bad notes.... but it reflect a certain inner state in presence of these pictures and words.... (hohoho i listen too much dream theater, people who know maybe notices some words in my sentence)

this is the first one, the end is out of the track, i do not understand...

https://soundcloud.com/dizy-laurent/sad

the next one is more metal, maybe a good riff, an idea beneath my head's skin.

https://soundcloud.com/dizy-laurent/sad-metal

it's time to go to bed 1.30 late at night

Laurent

Hi Laurent! Thanks for joining this workout! I enjoyed listening to your music. This two compositions sound really good! Both are sad and related to the picture but each of them generates a different feeling on me. The first one is more introspective, it makes me feel things inside, while the second one sounds more like a soundtrack for me. Both are very tasty and enjoyable and what it's even more important both are deep.

Are you used to compose this kind of music? These are VERY promising ideas.

really no, i try to play what i feel inside, now i can easyer as never "tell" what i want to mean, cause i start to know my fret board, it's not perfect for now, that's why i do errors.

these two tracks where recorded as one shoot for each some minutes before i post them on soundcloud.

but everythnig i play is from the inside, and it's really frustrating to do not be able to really play as i like to play, i'm a real noob !

So many elements to this one, difficult to do a cinematic track, for me anyway unsure.gif Hopefully something will pop into my head soon.

hehe you did it again! I really like the feeling of your track! and I also like the fact that you called "in progress" because I feel that it's lacking a flute melody to be perfect! don't you think so?

Thanks Gab, I was thinking along the same lines but I can't find a sweet tone, also, my legato (i think that's what it's called unsure.gif) isn't very good to get the smoothness of the flute. I'm frustrated with this one because again, I have something in my head that can't reach my fingers sad.gif

It may be the weekend before I get something for this rolleyes.gif

Hey Gab!

So I've run into a problem - I generally create a rhythm and then build a melody off of it but in this case I have come up with a melody but have no idea how to create a rhythm behind it blink.gif

https://soundcloud.com/stortzmusic/melody-idea

Any ideas, mate?

I don't agree, it's not crappy. I have the happy feeling of this backing and I think that there are some cool guitar lines in your improvisation. If you would tweak a bit the notes choices and put more attention on expressing elements, this could be a killer solo.
It just need to be polished.

wou! I love this phrasing! I play it many times and can't get enough. It's pure magic. I played some random chords over it... G - D - C - Asus2, and I got different feels. I think that this is a very creative approach to compose music.

While listening to your tune, the intro of this tune come to my mind:

so maybe some synth string atmospheres in the back could work... what do you think?

Hey Gab!

I was thinking of putting strings in the back as well but I couldn't figure out a chord progression.

Were the chords you chose random?

Should I nap out the notes and figure out the chord scale for those notes and go from there?

Thanks mate!

Hello Gab,

Ok, I'm not happy with this at all but I've posted because the will be another one coming soon. I've still called it in progress. I found it much harder to get inspiration that I did with the other two. I should have faded it out about a quarter of the way through but I left it just in case you can hear something half decent somewhere in there. I couldn't manage to get anything flute like at all unsure.gif The flute is such a smooth flowing sound and I just don't have the skills. Hopefully you will understand what I was aiming for and advise me, I wanted a lilting happy sound that would be nice to have in hidden speakers when walking through a forest or something similar.
