Hi Laurent, good first recording. Congrats. Are the drums midi or audio? What multitrack are you using? Reaper? What are you using for drums?

Hi Laurent! I'm really happy to see how you could create a backing by your own. This is a great first step in your career as musician and composer! The tune sounds very like a superhero soundtrack. I like the feel of the intro and verses but my favorite part is when the progression starts to move up, that part is epic! I feel that the tune needs more of that, maybe a harmonic change close to the end.

About the solo, it's ok, but it needs of course to be polished, and maybe more melodic lines that keep that suspense vibe. Listen to some John 5 metal tunes and you'll see what I mean. biggrin.gif

Hi Gabriel

Thanks for listening, once again wink.gif

everything need to be polished, it's for all parts a very quick draw.

i must fine a good solution for my audio workflow, i do not know Cubase except for very basic stuff, i must use pattern , copy/paste of audio parts to be more efficient, as studio do it !

i wasn't inspired about the solo, nothing what to come, anyway i try; even if i shake the neck, nothing was come....

edit: i have listen The Devil Knows My Name from John 5

this guy is very good, fast, clean and damn inventive !!!! use a lots of FX, maybe a potential influence.

Sounding good Laurent, I am glad you now have to chance to make your own backings. Its a lot of fun when you have to make your own, you also learn so much by doing so.

Here is my take, hope you guys like it.

Hi laurent, there are many Cubase tutorials at youtube: https://youtu.be/rYV2Hi6uAnU

It would be good to dedicate some time to learn the things that you need to be able to transpose your ideas from your head to your multitrack smoothly.

Danny Elfman?? Is that you?? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

This sounds killer mate. Once again, I feel that the mix is not making justice to the quality of your composition. I can see that you are starting to find your style.

There are many sites like this one, have you ever thought on it?

Glad you like it Gab, But i don't know what else to do, as far as the mixing goes. On this song i recorded the guitar 4 times just like the video you posted shows. I also EQ every instrument on its own spectrum. I took my time on this one, I don't know what am doing wrong with the mix. But i thought this one sounded better that my earlier ones. I guess mixing and mastering are not my thing. Oh well i guess i keep trying until frustration sets in.

What about sharing the tracks with me in wav format to let me see how everything sounds before mixing it and give some more precise suggestions?

Hi Laurent, thanks for your recording. I like the feel of your composition. It keeps that mix of feeling that generates the picture, and even more if you know the story behind it.

Have you seen the movie?
