Been thinking about something for the past few minutes:

Are thread titles automaticaly changed to capital letters for each word? It seems that way. However, some words shouldn't have capital letters, such as "of", "in" etc...

At least that's what I've been taught. Don't know if this is confirmable, and none the less, it's a very small "thing" that doesn't really matter. Just came to think about it.

I've have very slow throughput of videos for nearly one day. I live in the midwest USA, so the problem is probably local to my region.

I have tested throughput and it is normal. I have tried several computers, and also youtube to make sure that the problem is at your end. I am satisfied that it is.

Thank you.

I couldn't leave feedback for at least five lessons in the last two weeks. Strange that is.

Just to emphasize how bad a problem this is, and to make it clear that I have established 100% that the problem is on your end (router or server). It takes 10 minutes for me to download a video. Every other site such as youtube is just as fast as normal. Speedtest came out normal. Just to beat the probability of this being my problem to zero, I rebooted everything, used different computers.

Definitely on your end, makes the site unusable, was going on last night, and now this afternoon, with no improvement at any time. I could not possibly be a problem on my end.

I had that once. It was two month ago. But after 2 days it just worked fine again. But I can't leave any feedback. No matter what lesson.

I found a great one from Andrew. I couldn't stop laughing.

On the Posting guidelines in GMC classifieds he has this

3. Ads should conform to the posted example guideline advert - ads that don't won't be approved and will never be seen. Descriptions should be detailed, include an actual picture of the item to e sold (no sock photos please)

I think it should read

I thought long and hard about posting a picture of my socks for a laugh but I resisted biggrin.gif Unless Andrew really is terrified of socks smile.gif

Kris I have had this problem in the past. People think their comments aren't posting but the comments don't post right away for some people. My comments on lessons take up to 2 hours to post so many think their comments haven't been posted but they eventually come up I believe.

Ok 2 out of 7 comments I left yesterday. For example Markus lesson, Lians lesson etc. I can't see my comments there. And the processing of the 2 you mentioned must have taken hours. I checked back 3 hours after I left the comments. Nothing. Now they are there I agree. Anyway that's weird. Is that related to a popup blocker or something else in my browser settings ???

It's weird. I do think somebody needs to look into the time it takes for comments to show up.

I see you were in the other thread from a few days ago.

The problem has reappeared, not quite as bad as a few days ago, but still pretty poor performance, about 3 or 4 minutes to upload new videos. It was about 10 minutes a few days ago.

This is a US problem, maybe even midwest/west coast. This has been going on for about a half hour now. If it gets better I will add a comment. If I don't assume it has not gotten better.

edit: I take back the 3 or 4 minute estimate, I just timed one, about 8 minutes for the new video to complete. I also checked youtube just to be sure. youtube is coming in fine. I could do more tests, but considering that I did that a few days ago, I feel the chances of this being a different problem than the same a few days ago are slim.

I was thinking of doing that myself, but was lazy. It has improved, took about 2 minutes for a video, buffering came on 7 or 8 times. If the problem persists, I will do the traceroute thing and let you know what I find.

I have been running a trace route program, that gives a history of the packet performance over hops. The problem just cleared up, but I think it was occurring in Europe. Anyway, in the future, I will give you some screen shots if I have problems, so you have something to show exactly what is going on.

Ok, here is an example that I titled "LazyDogSlow", which I think gives a good analogy, such as with my dog today on his walk, who wants to stop every 50 yards to lay in the grass. Takes about 2 minutes to upload a short video, stops to buffer 7 or 8 times.

When I get examples of "SnailSlow" as it was on tuesday, or "RabbitFast" as it had been in the past (no buffers, videos loaded in less than 10 seconds), I will send those.

I was not aware we were served from Holland, thought it was local to US. Seems to me the last two interfaces are the problem, but I am not a network guy.
