  • Hi there, I´m glad to stay here once again. This time, we´ll take a look at the well known band called Stratovarius. One of the most popular Power Metal bands of all times and one of my favorite as well :)

I wrote this short tune to show you some licks used by them. In there, I´ve included some classic licks from the band as well as some techniques so popular in their sound too. so, take this etude step by step and have fun.

    We have 3 basic parts.
In the first one, we´ll focus on riff/intro, using alternate picking and 3-notes-per-string scale at the end.

In second one, we play some alternate picking over a classic string skipping pattern.

In the last one, we use fast picking and string skipping.

Special thanks to: vintageplaya666, superize, Canis, Caelumamittendum who requested this lesson in my board.

Take in mind that same settings in other gear will produce a different sound, but, as we talked at the forum, this could be cool for some members, so enjoy!
