  • Hi GMC'ers! This lesson is about the famous song that has the same name of the album where the song is included... yes! MASTER OF PUPPETS. I've always loved this song and it's time to share this cool song to everybody.

    I've included almost everything that's on the song (even the harmonized guitars). The only big part that I didn't include was the second solo. Don't forget to watch the first video for an explanation of the form of the song (there you'll find which parts I've not included).

    A little detail for those who have no idea of what I'm talking about:

    Metallica is an American heavy metal band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1981. The band was founded when an advertisement posted by drummer Lars Ulrich in a local newspaper, was responded to by James Hetfield. Metallica's line up has primarily consisted of Ulrich, rhythm guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield and lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, while going through a number of bassists (Ron McGovney, Cliff Burton, Jason Newsted). The spot is currently held by Robert Trujillo. The band's original lead guitarist, before Hammett, was current Megadeth guitarist and lead vocalist Dave Mustaine.

    In this cool song we can explore this techniques:

    * Legato

    * Palm Muting

    * Downstrokes

    * Alternate picking

    * Slides

    * Bends

    The general key of the song is Em (that means one sharps).

    I hope you enjoy the lesson as I did making it!

    Cheers!
