  • Hi GMC!

Welcome to my new lesson where I share a solo that I composed specially for my GMC introduction video.
I received many messages asking me for the tabs of this solo, so I decided to do a lesson based on it.

    Music Style:

I used my lesson “Pop Punk I” as the backing track of this solo but let me say that this is not the type of solo that you would find in a Pop Punk band. I can say that this solo is my own rocker style. In this lesson I will be sharing some of my favourite and most used licks. As I usually say, my main influences when we are talking about guitar soloing are Slash, Zakk Wylde, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert and many more so be sure that you will hear them in my playing.

    Tonality, Chord Progression & Scales:

The backing track is in D major and the chord progression is: D – A – Bm – G
The scales that I used are D Pentatonic Major and D Major.

    Techniques:

This solo includes different techniques like bending, vibrato, legato, alternate picking and sweep picking.

    Sound:

I used my Pod HD 500 to record this lesson. My guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Studio.

    Tuning:

    I used standard tuning.

    Tempo:

    160 bpm

Ok guys – let’s start rocking!
