  • Greetings from Granada (Andalucia, Spain)!

In this lesson I play the techniques that I consider essential if you want to play the slap guitar. Right hand techniques are "slap" thumb, "pop" with the middle finger (other people use the index) and finger picking to play chords. Left hand techniques are: left hand tapping, legato (hammer-on / pull-off), muted (or dead notes), sliding notes and chord tapping. There are many more techniques that I will teach future videos, but these for me are essential.

    Music Style: Funk, R&B

    Tonality & Scales: G

Techniques: slap & pop, left hand tapping, legato, left hand muted, sliding

Sound: I used a Parker Fly Deluxe with a clean sound on Fender Bassman.

    Tuning: Standard Tuning: E, A, D, G, B, E

    Tempo & Beat:
110bpm (Slow parts at 55 bpm)
    4/4
