If you have heard Amon Amarth before, this album is by far the best produced album they have done. The mix is just amazing. The style is the typical A.A. we all love, but the quality of the album is unlike anything we have had from them. If the improvement from last album to this is the same on their next album...I'll have my new favorite band.

Ok, they sing about vikings and ancient viking mythos, what more could you want?! Seriously, its bloody and full of battle and vikings sailing to war...I swear if the Norse had the ability to have a CD with them when they travelled to England to conquer..they would be listening to this album.

"Ships were prepared
Weapons and shields
Sails were raised
We headed out to sea"

Guitar Work

Amon Amarth has a particular sound and they didn't lose it in this album. Each song has riffs that get stuck in you head. You can't help but just bob your head and close your eyes with each song.

Overall Impression

I'm biased because I am a fan to begin with, but when I first heard them I fell in love with them. When I heard this album, I fell more in love with them. I never thought something like that possible..but it happened. If you have never listened to them, and you are a metal fan, I can promise you that you will be looking for more of their stuff when you finish hearing the first song. Don't be surprised if you find yourself putting on a viking helmet and grabbing your sword and shield after it either.

Score: 9/10
