History and Evolution

In 1999 the band was founded under the name „Jeff Killed John“. It's intention was to be a Metallica and Nirvana coverband. In 2002 they became part of the walish bandsupporterproject called „Pynci“. With this help, they were able to publish their first EP with two songs: „You“ and „Play with me“. This EP was produced by Greg Haver and the Style Nu Metal.

The EP was a little success, as it was played on local radio stations. On the day before the recording started, bassist Nick Crandle left the band, but he was replaced very soon through Jason James who played not only bass, but also shouted. After a bandname change to „Opportunity in Chicago“ that leasted only very short, the name was changed into Bullet for My Valentine. After a Showcase in London in 2004 the were quite some lables that wanted to „get“ the band – also Roadrunner Records. But actually Bullet for My Valentine is under contract with Sony BMG (europe), Visible Noise (Great Britain) and Trustkill Records (USA).

The third single was „Tears Don't Fall“ - in the video the shoutingparts were taken out of the song to make it sell better. In October 2006 a live EP called Hand of Blood EP – Live at Brixton came out, it appeared in two edtitions a „Limited Edition“ (4000 copies) that doesnt differ at all from the normal version besides a sticker that says „Limited EP“.
