Evergrey is a progressive metal band founded in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1996.

The band released their first album "The Dark Discovery" in 1998, which in contrast to their later albums, deals with several themes such as paronoia, religion, suicide and child abuse.

In 1999, the band released their second album "Solitude, Dominance, Tragedy", where they used several classical instruments, such as harps and violins.

Their third album, "In Search of Truth", was released in 2001 and deals with alien abductions. Frontman and vocalist Tom Englund was inspired to write this album after reading a novel called "Communion" by Whitley Strieber.

"Recreation Day", their fourth album released in 2003, is about personal reformation; changing who you are. It deals with fear, sorrow, mourning of people close to suicide victims and suicide itself. One of the most powerful songs on this album is "I'm Sorry", a coversong of Dilba Demirbag.

"The Inner Circle" which is their fifth album released in 2004, deals with religion, child abuse and cults. According to Tom Englund, the spoken words in the album is told by an actual person. They filmed the following tour for their first DVD.

Evergreys sixth album "Monday Morning Apocalypse" was released in 2006. It was produced and mixed by former producers of Rammstein, Def Leppard and Bon Jovi: Sanken Sandquist and Stefan Glauman.

Most recently, in early 2008, the band signed a deal with Steamhammer/SPV, and gone back to the studio to record songs for their new album "Torn". They might also release remastered versions of precious albums, including new bonus material.
