History
The Beginnings The story of Ibanez guitars begins long ago in 1908 with the company Hoshino Gakki who was a producer of sheet music. In 1935 this company began manufacturing string instruments, mostly acoustics. This company had very little presence in the united states until the mid 1960's. They produced a guitar that was shipped to the states as early as 1929. This guitar was the Salvador Ibanez Acoustics which was produced in Japan. This workshop was destroyed during the Spanish civil war. Hoshino Gakki then bought the rights to the Ibanez brand name and began creating more standard acoustics which would later just be called Ibanez.
