The single coil pickup

The singe coil pickup was first invented by George Beauchamp. He started experimenting with electronic amplification on guitars. And single coil pickup "picks up" the string movement and directs it to the amplificator. It measures the movement with an electronic field. When the strings comes closer to the pickup, the voltage on the pickup wil raise. The same visa versa. These pickups are to be found on almost all guitarbrands. Fender uses them a lot, but even gibson guitars use single coil pickups (Gibson uses mostly humbucking pickups)
