Type O Negative
Tagged a goth band, The original creation of Type O was a band called Fallout that incoporated hair metal and new wave music. Later on the band grew apart just after four years touring the east coast. Peter Stele then went to create a band called Carnivore.
Type O Negative came from the ashes of the band called Carnivore that Peter Steel created back in the 80's. Type O has also incorporated genres of music such as doom metal, thrash metal, blues, punk rock/hardcore punk, alternative rock and, progressive rock and often describe their sound as Black Sabbath-meets-The Beatles, both of whose songs they have covered. They have also used the moniker "The Drab Four" compared to The Beatles "The Fab Four". Their sound is very original using very low, doomy type sound infusing Peter Steeles very low baritone vocals that create a very creepy atmosphere at times.
The second real album that came out entitled Bloody Kisses released in 1993 to critical and listener acclaim, and eventually became the first record for Roadrunner to reach Platinum status in the United States.
