  Great Lesson! Ive always liked drop c but only play drop d. Ive always been afraid to try a different tuning thinking that im still a beginner. Haha Well, once I drop C, Ill learn this immediately

  Yes you probably will unfortunately:(
  There are 2 things you can try:
  Try a heavier string gauge not lower than 0.10 - 0.52 as light strings don't accomadate low tunings very well.
  If that alone does not work you will have to raise the action of your bridge slightly to avoid fret buzz/fret outs or
  tighten the springs for the floating bridge inside the guitar. You can get to those from the back of the guitar.
  If you haven't done this before take it in to your local music store for some hands on help and advice.

  The overall volume i can fix for future lessons as for the snare it's the best sounding midi snare i have.
  The others sound even more odd, they don't even sound like a snare drum
  The snare was probably also mixed a bit loud for this lesson.

  Man, Im so jealous now. Thats exactly both the tone and the riffage my band is trying to go for. For my part, this is probably among top three of the best metal-tunes Ive heard on GMC so far so Im definatly going to learn this one and get some ideas of my own ;. Btw what gear do you use?

Hay Gmc! This "RIFFAGE" lesson focuses on Drop C tuning and the playing style of bands like Killswitch Engage, Children of Bodom and Bullet for my valentine.

Tuning for the lesson from low to high: C G C F A D.

Even though Drop C is the tuning of choice for most metal bands, Children of Bodom don't use "Drop C" tuning all the time. On Bullet for my valentines' "scream, aim, fire" release most songs are in drop D tuning. Check out my first riffage lesson for more on "Drop D" tuning.

This lesson uses alot of alternate picking and fast legato runs and moves between two keys: C minor and C#major.

The backing tracks include a backing guitar and synth doubling up the harmony parts for you to play with at different tempos.

Tempo is 130 BPM in 4/4.
