He puts himself in the class with Paganini in an attempt to not sound self-indulgent? I can't really imagine his autobiography to be down to earth. Probably an interesting read though smile.gif

Anybody else spot Nicko McBrain in that vid ? smile.gif

And yes, it probably won't be the most unbiased, honest account ever, which is a shame because autobiographies should really present more of a picture of the person behind the mask that we see. As you say, should still be interesting.. and entertaining ! biggrin.gif

well...it was recorded at the 50th anniversary party for marshall and nico was there as well, so.....

and to yngwie: well, I guess the rock´n´roll circus is full of people like him and I don´t think that his biografie will suddenly show another yngwie...he is as he is (and I agree that he is not the most down to earth and friendly person in the world) but when I read his biografie I wanna hear about the selfcentered person who he is and why he thinks he is the incarnation of whoever.....
I like the music but not the person and I hope that after reading his biografie it won´t be the other way round.....

yeah, but Blackmore is Blackmore. The Riff King, he created Smoke on the water.
And what memorizable classic rock riffs did Yngwie created?

His thoughts are always polemic... so this book could be funny to read. I'm also curious to know all the things that a guitar legend like him has in his mind...

what's Nicko doing in the video??

I won't buy or read that book if it's to mispell his name every time I see it ! Ahahaha

I think it's quite late to write an autobiography, because many people don't like him anymore nowadays :/

I have been hoping for a Yngwie autobio for years. I'm sure it'll be majorly fabricated and one sided (most autobiographies are). rolleyes.gif

I grew up with this guy being the guitar idol. Love his playing and his personality is entertaining to me. Though, he has created a bad rep for himself and I can see why some people don't like him.

But.. surely we don't need books like this. We all know the history of metal by now, it's been well publicised enough over the years.. biggrin.gif

Go right back to the beginning and it will say stuff about the blues becoming electrified.. then it will mention bands like Cream and allude to the theory that 'You Really Got Me' by the Kinks was possibly the first 'heavy metal riff ever'.. it'll mentioned Hendrix maybe.. Deep Purple of course but then there will be a big section about Sabbath..

Then Priest..

Then Maiden and NWOBHM..

And we all know the rest.

Add some sections about different sub genres like Black Metal, referencing Venom's 1982 album of the same name but also mentioning that the music style was not the same, just the name and image was built upon by the Norwegian bands etc, blah blah..

Big section about the emergence of thrash, where bands were influenced by metal but also punk...

There you go. Don't need to read it now smile.gif

I skip the first part untill Priest ...then i go to the more underrated thrash acts of the 80's like Assassin , Dark Angel,Voivod... i also want to find a uncovered hole in German and central euro thrash scene...
I think that's book more then some arrogant fat shredder's tongue.gif
