Hi JesseJ!! Welcome to your Gab's Army thread!!
Could you please tell me a bit about you, your musical tastes, influences, strengths and weaknesses? I would need some videos of you playing rhythm and solo guitar, so please post your best material here. If you have some music or ideas of your own, also post them here. Also let me know how you think that I can help you and what are your expectations for our job. You can check the other Army's thread to discover the different modalities of this project. The principles of our Army are: + Improve your technique + Make music and solos + Have fun + Destroy the enemy (hahaha not realy just kidding... ) -------------------- My lessons

Hi mate! Here I will post some basic things that you should start working.
LESSON #1 – WARMING UP & ENDURANCE LESSON #3 – RIGHT HAND / ALTERNATE PICKING Besides this, you could choose a lesson from the archive level 2 to 4 that you like musically, and start working on it. One that combines rhythm with some easy soloing. Please tell me your favourite bands and I will help you choosing it. -------------------- My lessons

I will start working on that warmup and alternate picking right away . As far as anther lesson goes Cosmin already has me working on 4 other ones so my plate is kinda full . My favorite bands ? Well I have so many it is hard to say ! But I really like Nickelback , gun's roses , A Day To Remember , Disciple, Some Rise against stuff ,and Red . That sounds good to me. Please also post the lessons that you record here. -------------------- My lessons

I currently still have no way of recording but I think I might get the fast track II . Right now it is the most affordable option because I can plug my guitar straight into it and I wont need any software since my mac has garageband . problem is I live in a small town and I dont get a chance to get to the city very often . But I will try and get one asap . Ok! That sounds good! What's your guitar level (based on GMC lessons) ? -------------------- My lessons

Hi mate! Nice cover! Your performance is really good on this one! I notice that the take has some room reverberation that affects the overall quality... how did you record it?
What about the lessons that you are working? -------------------- My lessons

I found out my Macbook has a built in microphone so I used that + garageband. So I was debating wether or not to put that cover up because I really didn't like the second part of the solo but I thought then you could see the soloing level I'm at and we could work from there I am working on memorizing the warmup and alternate picking exercises . They are quite fun I should have them memorized in a day or 2 , so what would you like me to start working on after that ? Great! Could you please record you playing the exercises? -------------------- My lessons

Great! Could you please record you playing the exercises? Okay here they are split into three parts , that way I didn't have to start all over every time I made a mistake. The first part I found the hardest , but the other 2 parts were almost as difficult . There are a few mistakes 2 or 3 times I was off on the timing and a few times I hit the wrong notes , So it's not perfect but here you go best I could do considering this is only the third day I have been playing this warmup . Cheers:) http://soundcloud.com/jessej-3/warmup http://soundcloud.com/jessej-3/warmup-part-2 http://soundcloud.com/jessej-3/warmup-part-3 -------------------- Never miss an opportunity to play

Hi mate! The three takes sound good. Considering that you only played this for 3 days you are doing a great job! Please keep on playing this exercises every day and let's incorporate a more musical lesson to make the practice more funny and also to let me check your playing over a backing track. What about this one?

What about this one? https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Pop-Punk-II/ Hey thanks for the feedback The first thing I do is play through all the exercises twice every time I pick up my guitar. Haha A year from now it will only take my like 1 minute to play em all ! I love that lesson I already went through I just cant quite yet play it at the tempo that you did . My only problem is I'm not sure how to play over a backing track ?!? -------------------- Never miss an opportunity to play

Every lesson includes a backing track player in the right side of the video player. Have you noticed it? Is that the problem? or the problem is that you don't know how to record a take using the backing tracks.. ? -------------------- My lessons

The problem is I don't how to record a take using the backing track . The best way would be to use a multitrack software like Reaper or Cubase. You add the backing track in a stereo track and record your take inm another track while you hear the backing. -------------------- My lessons
