I was just watching this Small Faces video and was quite intrigued by the sight of a 8x12 Marshall cabinet. Why did they stop making them? Wouldn't you like to have one of these behemoths in your bedroom? tongue.gif

Unfortunately they stopped making them at the same time the Roadies without payment stopped working and started their still on-going strike. We must cut a deal with their union, otherwise we never cant play these wonderful cabs again.... sad.gif

Those 8x12 cabs were some of the first ever made!
Pete Townshend asked Jim Marshall to built those towers for him but they were impossible to carry arround so to keep the *the who* roadies from going on a strike the 8x12 cabs were cut in half...

And that was the birth of the stackable 4x12 cabs as we know them today

The buddy of mine is a bassist and he plays a 6x10 Genz Benz bass cabinet that is already impossible to carry or move arround alone, imagine those 8x12 cabs would need at least 3-4 roadies to carry them on a stage!

Great cabs smile.gif I'd like a 4x12 and 2x15 stack at some point. Maybe when marshal makes the "Extreme bone crushing sub harmonic stack of Death".
