Hey GMC - how is everybody doing ?

A friend of mine sent me today website link that most teachers at Berklee are giving students as studying tool besides regular classes.

Website is totally free, requires no registration whatsoever and is full with useful content.

You can learn Music notation , Theory and Harmony and various types of EAR TRAINING !

I just did 100 examples of 50 up and 50 down ear training examples, all intervals until octave randomly played, got a 100% for it smile.gif

Anyways here is a link for all of you guys : http://musictheory.net/

If you want to train your ear, click in the middle drag bar (Trainers) and you will see Interval Ear Trainer smile.gif

Let me know how you like it - so far I am loving it and will recommend all my students this tool !

Pedja

EDIT : Couple of very useful features with interval ear trainer. You can deselect intervals that you don't feel working on right away. That way you can just focus on one or more intervals at the time! Also , you can chose Direction of interval studying (up or down). Another great feature is if you miss an answer, it gives you message like WRONG correct answer was etc
Try it out its awesome smile.gif

@ Berko

Awesome, glad you are already working with it!
It also has scale trainer which helps you learn sound of scales and lock them in your ear. Chord trainer is useful but I think they should expand it to Jazz chords 9ths, 11ths, 13ths, as well as polychords. I will write to owner about this later today smile.gif

You welcome everybody.
I really think you can all learn new things using this website.

It doesn't take a lot of time to do Interval Ear Trainer. If you do every day 100 examples, and focus on one interval at time for example, your ear would definitely develop for transcribing.

Andru you should not use guitar when doing these but rather practice them singing or humming while piano plays them. That way you lock specific interval in your ear and assign some sort of song melody to it.

David biggrin.gif It was no big deal to get 100% as I used to do a lot of ear training quizes for long time but thanks anyways man smile.gif

So my advice is to add 15-20 minutes in your practice routine some Ear Training practice to improve overall musicality for future solos and compositions.

Thanks
