mmm I don't know anything about this but it would be great for me to change my 4x12 to conect my gear in stereo !!!

Yep, that makes total sense to me - you'll end up with 2x16ohms as you say!

A DPDT switch is great idea. IT can really come in handy. Be sure to put a quality made and robust one.

its ok but i prefer for 16ohms need a long cable not short cable from amp to speakers
