They put this off to the side for me at Sam Ash. I am hoping to get it around $650 because of a sale they are running. Reasons why I want it: Love gold-top Les Pauls My Epiphone LP is not cutting it I have an extra Ibanez S470 that I am selling. Is this a good guitar to replace two of my others? I already have a 'fast' RG-570 so I don't really need the S anymore and I am thinking that this might be a step up from the Epi Les Paul. |

If you get it for 650$ I think it will be a good deal, would at least be in Norway! I`m not the biggest fan of goldtops, but I do love those guitars! I am drooling over a similar ESP Eclipse in a local shop here which is absolutetly AMAZING, but converted from norwegian prices it costs around 2500$ (and thats a NICE price because I know the owner) -------------------- Take your music seriously, but not yourself

I don't like the ESP ltd 1000 series very much... They sound and feel like the much cheaper 400 oder 401 series (even the same hardware) but they add a little optical stuff like inlays and bindings and sell it for more money... The Gibson Les Paul Studios cost roughly the same but are at least twice as good! American made versus Korean Made... The Gibson is made out of the better sounding wood with a better crafting, comes with equally good hardware and a high quality Case - and they just sound a lot better than the ltd1000. If you really want an Eclipse, spend some more money and get a Japanese made REAL ESP Eclipse! Great guitars! I just watched some vids of it and did not like it much. http://www.samash.com/p/Eclipse%20II%20STD...uitar_-49951996 THIS looks better. It is something I might be able to weasel myself into. I really want the thick, LP tone and, call me vein, I want it to be attractive. The LP studios just would be a tease to me. Any suggestions? |

they look nice but I agree wth Zakk, A used LP is a much better option if you can find something you like.

I agree with Zakk too, used Gibson is definitely a way to go, and it pays out to wait for it a while, until you find a good deal. If you cannot wait, Gibson Studio is good choice for a new guitar too, the tone and craftsmanship are there, for smaller cost.

If you're patient, you can find new, or next new ESP Eclipse's on eBay for less than that price at Sam Ash.

I think you should wait a little and consider getting a Gibson. That is where the real tone lay. Used guitars are great option and you can get them for a nice price too.
