Mhskeide - Overture 1928 |

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

My cover of Dream Theater`s Overture 1928! I have learn the solo a bit different before I saw the lesson, therefore some timing issues when syncing with original track. Still hope its okay enough Equipment Peavey Classic 30 Ibanez S Classic Sony Vegas This post has been edited by skennington: May 3 2010, 06:13 PM -------------------- Take your music seriously, but not yourself

I am not sure in the moment, but isn't there a rule excluding cover songs from the rec program?

Your playing leaves the impression of well-balanced player with good solid technique needed for this take. However, it also leaves the impression of a take not well prepared. There problems with timing, lack of flow occasionally, and overall attitude isn't there, probably because you were focusing too much on playing it. However, this is a big piece, and I think it's great that you played the whole take, it creates good condition for playing songs and better sense for live playing then a shorter piece. Overall grade would be a good 8 from me.

Nice touch at the beginning with volume knob.
You have good attack on the strings and can pull out a good sound out of the guitar, There are some notes added to the original, so I guess it would great to have exactly as it is. Yet they don't sound bad. You are rushing a little and the timing feels outside of the beat, just make sure you work on that. -------------------- Visit my:
