So I am way past due for new strings on my strat. It seems like they don't stay tuned very long any more. I retune after every other song usually now. Is this due to the strings being many months old? Or do I need to have my guitar which is barely a year old inspected? Change your strings and find out! You're guitar's due for a string change anyways -------------------- The more I practice, the more I wish I had time to practice!

I think it is a factor,
It might have to do with the guitar's octavation, you should check that too -------------------- Visit my:

if there are problems with intonation, then the guitar needs to be inspected. however, i think new fresh set of strings will refresh the sound nicely. on top of it, i suggest that you take a guitar and get it setuped, if it wasn't done before.

I don't let my guitars go very long anymore without a string change

I would recommend changing those strings. You could take the opportunity to take the guitar to the shop and get a professional setup too if you haven't done it before.
