Hello everyone,

I am Ayan.I am from India.Although I donot come from a musically inclined family, but my liking for music started probably with bands like Backstreet Boys,Ensync,WestlifLinkin Park, singers like Enrique,Ricky martin. And then one day I heard Hotel California being performed by my school band.nd I was like wow!wat a guitar piece is being played.....and that was the time my eyes were upon this beautiful instrument. With time I started searching guitar pieces in scorpions, bryan admas, lionel richie....and then I heard Smokes on the water, songs of Guns N Roses and I was blown away. But my interest of learning the instrument started after I was shown a video of Dream Theater and John Petrucci was doing some uncanny, fast, sensuous, insane solo playing and I was glued.Although I heard metallica,ac/dc,iron maiden earlier but i was inspired by Petrucci like hell.I bought the Rock Discipline DVD and started practicing, but lost my interest when I couldnot play the exercises. But I didnot stopped learning. And then I found GMC where I started learning from the level I was in.I interacted with the instructors and they helped me to figure out how to move further with learning levelwise. And I think I have improved a lot.And besides Petrucci,I was also inspired by Marty Friedman,Steve Vai,Eddie Van Halen.Jeff Loomis,Alex Skolnick,Alexi Laiho etc etc to name a few. Also Al di Meola was also a great inspiration.Same for blues king BBKing,Eric Clapton,Buddy Guy etc etc.My goal in guitar playing is to be a dynamic player.....not just a random shredder or a rythm player but to have a allround knowledge and skills........like Satriani,Vai....hehe!!!Am I getting too ambitious????

Welcome! I think your goals are very ambitious and won't be easy to achieve, but joining GMC is a very good step to achieve it. Just trust the instructors, listen to their advice even if you think you know better, and results will follow soon.
