The entry level for this months challenges was a little disappointing, but none the less we had a few entries biggrin.gif

The beginner challenge was Carlos Carillios Melodic solo in Gm, we had two audio entries for this challenge by Organised Confusion and Marek Rojewski, for the challenges to be entered into the poll we require video entries, but both OC and MR took a crack at the challenge and I thought it was well worth a mention and excellent that they took up the challenge even though they couldnt provide videos at the time, well done guys!! biggrin.gif (you can find their takes Here )

Only one entry for the Intermediate Challenge which was Trond Volds Am Solo, "Coffeeman" smile.gif

As the only entrant for this challenge, Andres wins by default biggrin.gif you can check out his take Here
Well done mate, great effort smile.gif

Two entrants for the advanced challenge which this month was David Wallimans "Inspiration" solo lesson

wrk`s entry http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=mIjOChcVD-w&fmt=18

and Pizzoaro`s entry http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XeOUB5lGSOw

So.. in your opinions who nailed the solo? good luck guys biggrin.gif

I promise I will get a video up for the next challenge. Please keep these up. I think the longer they go on the more popular they will become smile.gif

That's like choosing between two David Wallimanns. biggrin.gif I had to admit I loved both of them equally and I liked the different interpretations so I had to flip a coin in the end biggrin.gif.

Great job guys. I certainly want to get to that standard some time smile.gif

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

I think you did a good job on it, but its hard to see the technique without the video. But one thing seeing all the entries has clarified for me is that according to GMCs standards, I am definitely beginner. I kind of thought I was more intermediate to the rest of the world, but as others will agree, the Difficulty Levels at GMC are not really accurate(But I know its had to classify).

I am glad to find out about this competition - As I will definitely check it out next month if I can get my video equipment in order
