I appreciate all the time you're putting into this - I greatly appreciate it man!
The creativity workout is my favorite, I can slowly see myself getting better at composing. |

I love all of the workshops and would like to thank you for all of the time you put in for us.
The ear training is the hardest one for me but you encourage me every day. My favourite is the creativity workshop, it gives me a bit of a break from having to try to get something how it should be and lets me make something how I want it to be, sometimes though, I can't make what I can feel in my head but it's the trying that makes development happen. I can't think of anything else to add fro another workshop at the moment. Thanks again -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. Hi guys! Thanks for the feedback and your kind words about my work.
It's cool to know that your favorite is the Creativity Workout, I wouldn't suspect it if you wouldn't have said it here. This workout with the "beyond the rec program" initiative are most based on make you create music, while the others are training workout. Both things worked together will help you to become more complete musicians. Everybody at GMC is invited to join, just check the different threads and let's start working! -------------------- My lessons

I think a gradual theory workshop would be good. Starting with basics and getting students to apply the theory to a little composition would help us understand.

Hi Gab, Yes, theory workshop is a great idea! Also: Sound Workshop ! WHY: If someone would ask me to make my guitar sound like AC/DC what would I do? Search for a preset in Guitar Rig - because I have no idea how to create a certain guitar tone! What I miss is the general understanding what some typical sounds consist of and how to apply effects, EQ, settings and so on. I recently posted at REC a strumming lesson with chorus and delay. I thought it sounds cool, well it was more the opposite. The fact that we all have different tools to get a certain sound from guitar to effects and amps which makes it even more interesting. HOW: You could take an existing lesson that represents a typical sound (e.g. 80s Rock) or artist and would give a brief intro what key elements of this sound are. We would learn a lick (or a few notes) out of this lesson and try to reproduce the sound with our own guitar, software, GT001, BIAS or what we all have and post it with a screen copy or otherwise detailed description of settings. You would guide us to find the right sound for this sample. I know its all a matter of taste and we are not here to copy ...but I really need a better understanding of this all. Right now I use a preset and change setting without plan and hope it gets better. This eats lots of practice time and is not successful. Sure I want to find my sound at the end but right now I am not able to use the tools I have. What do you think? Thanks Tom. Hi Tom, matching the tone is also a good idea! I'll think on something to experiment and see if we have more GMCers interested on this one. Thanks! -------------------- My lessons

Hey there!
I'm just starting the timing- and eartraining-workouts and I love it . Thank you so much Gabriel! Just wanted to add the idea of an improvisation workshop, but then I remembered this one: IMPROVISATION COURSE - FROM ZERO TO HERO - So I'm giving this one a try, too And I really dig the idea of that sound workshop! |
