This is an excerpt from a cover I'm working at. (still struggling with the vocals....) I coul'nt stop myself from doing this song again since I saw Joe Bonamassa doing it... (even that I'm a little upset since I was doin it before him.... tongue.gif ) Anyway, it is "Stop" by the great singer/Hammond player Sam Brown and it's merely done to show the sound of my new Brian Moore guitar. It is just miced with two mices and no eq, just a little reverb - delay is floor based.... The drums are EZ and the bass is of course the new Trilian... biggrin.gif

//Staffay

EDIT: And the amp is my hotted Fender Blues Deluxe.....

Sounds great Staffy smile.gif
Great playing too!

Oh, the bass sounds wonderful as well!
Can't wait to start using Trilian myself biggrin.gif

I'm working on a new heavy song for the moment but I'll probably play the bass myself on that one.
But for my next recordings Trilian will be sweetening up the tracks biggrin.gif

Hmmm, real tasty!
Killer Sound - congratulation on your new guitar.
The ending was a bit...well, abrupt though! wink.gif

Yeah, well, as the title says its merely a sound test on the guitar than a mixed recording..... Final version is coming up though... if I ever will learn to sing it fairly....

Great cover Staffy! Love the sound of guitar, and that bass vst sounds really cool (maybe lacking some sustain on notes)... smile.gif

Oh, I played the bass on this one as well........ using the guitar via MIDI and then triggers Trilian.... smile.gif
Much faster than doing it on keyboards.....

Well, there's no secrets bout it..... a good soundcard and some decent microphones will do.....

Awesome phrasing Staffy, excellent stuff. Tone is very cool in some places, not all, but on some it is really nice and fat. Great job! smile.gif

Ummm, think I know what You mean... the very high note is a little weaker, but this is due to that I really recorded this at nearly bedroom level - the guitar just have an amazing sustain in itself, so there is no need for high levels, although in this case the high note for sure would have benefit from it... also the final version will probably have this solo cleaned up since its improvised and some parts need to clean up... But thats my smallest problem atm. As stated I'm trying to SING as well, and that is much harder than playing guitar, believe me!
To play guitar is a matter of training and getting a great tone with the right gear, but what do You do with a lousy voice?? A new one on EBay??? I say as I always do - I would give my right foot for a voice like Michael McDonald, Marvin Gaye or like in this case Sam Brown (the other female attributes can be left out though, she is killer lookin but I dont really wanna convert into a woman.... laugh.gif )

Hehe, I know what you mean, I try to sing as well, but for now it's no good. With practice it will become better, but there is always a physical limit. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind having this for live, I wonder if it does what it says well biggrin.gif

Hehe, well I have a similar plug in my Powercore called "Voice modeller" that is pretty amazing, it can turn me into a stupid blonde, make me sound like a death metal singer, pitch correct and even get me bizarre OUT OF TUNE (which is amongst the funniest I ever heard....)
But for subtile changes to the timbre it works really well, and can "fatten" up the voice and make it richer, but somehow I think this is a little like "cheatin" and I dont use it.... Same goes for Melodyne, even that I use sometimes on guitar to fix a bad note when *m too lazy to do another take....
