A DOG NAMED FAITH

This dog was born on Christmas Eve in the year 2002. He was born with 2 legs - He of course could
not walk when he was born. Even his mother did not want him.

His first owner also did not think that he could survive and he was thinking of 'putting him to sleep'. But then, his present owner, Jude Stringfellow, met him and wanted to take care of him. She became determined to teach and train this little dog to walk by himself. She named him 'Faith'.

In the beginning, she put Faith on a skateboard to let him feel the movement. Later she used peanut butter on a spoon as a lure and reward for him for standing up and jumping around.

Even the other dog at home encouraged him to walk.

Amazingly, only after 6 months, like a miracle, Faith learned to balance on his hind legs and to jump to move forward.
After further training in the snow, he could now walk like a human being.

Faith loves to walk around now. No matter where he goes, he attracts people to him.
He is fast becoming famous on the international scene and has appeared on various newspapers and TV shows. There is now a book entitled 'With a Little Faith' being published about him.

He was even considered to appear in one of Harry Potter movies.

His present owner Jude Stringfellew has given up her teaching post and plans to take him around the world to preach that even without a perfect body, one can have a 'perfect soul'.

Help those in need. Alway believe, we just needs a little faith.
Together we can achieve anything!

Nice story and I´m happy for the dog and grateful to Jude Stringfellow for putting so much effort into helping a fellow creature.
But PLEASE don´t :"....plans to take him around the world to preach that even without a perfect body, one can have a 'perfect soul'."

That would take the beauty of the story out of it for me!

Looks like a happy dog. He never had arms, does not miss them. You can tell by the body language, that is one happy dog, as far as he is concerned, he as a great life. No reason to feel sorry for that dog.

Go to a animal shelter, those are the dogs and cats I feel sorry for. I hate to go, rips me apart to see them, I feel so sorry for them.

You should be grateful to me for my new dog Miska. I got here 10 weeks ago, a Miniature Aussie Blue Muir, rescued designer dog that had been a breeder all her life. She knew nothing other than how to have babies in a cage. Not even poop/pee trained. I got her spayed, and trained her. Now she knows all her commands, I can walk her off leash and be in control. She does her business outside every time, without fail. But that took a lot of work, and patience. Dogs are great, if you know how to relate to them, even if you get them when they are not puppies, you can really do a lot with them, to undo what they went though before you got them.

Well done, sir!!
Always good to hear stories like that!!

I love animals as well (I´m more of a cat man though wink.gif ) but sometimes I feel that if we could convert only a small portion of the love towards animals to love towards our fellow (wo)men, we would make a big step to build paradise on earth! biggrin.gif

Wow this is amazing! Its amazing how one can adapt and evolve to fit needs. Its great that his owner cared so much though I don't like the marketing aspect of it.... (writing books, preaching etc)...

While yes, Christain morals are to have faith and help those in need, you don't need to believe in any religion to understand this.

There isn't a marketing aspect as such, if preaching is such a strong word, use 'show' instead. The dog became famous and enjoyed meeting and greeting people. The book was writen by someone else. The Harry Potter movie offer was considered but turned down. People all over the world wanted to see him. He enjoyed his life to the full even with limitations, accept it, adapted, and they didn't get him down.

The moral of the story is when you think that life deals you a bad hand of 'cards' and is unfair, you can't do something because of such-and-such, or your just don't think your capable... don't give up so easy! The end reward for those that work harder for it is greater!

Like fkalich and his new dog Miska, it's also great to see how caring some people are to help others, including animals.

Well, I enjoyed it, quite touching, thought it would be good to share.
