Hi mates, Excuse my english, I'm french, sometimes it's difficult for me to speak and understand,,,, Gab is my mentor, I make a video take all weeks to have advices back, I work a Muris Varajic's lesson : Funk Soling lesson. This lesson is fantastic but some picking sequences are very fast. I play to 85% speed? When Gabriel saw my take, he told me : "The video showing how you work on the fast licks is totally inspiring, why don't you create a thread to share it to other students?" You can see my videos here Also, I send a message to Ben Higgins for advices Back QUOTE Hi, the practise video sounds really good. Your picking sounds very even and clean.
The area where it is difficult is where you want to concentrate more of your time. Also, doing speed bursts of the lick will help, rather than constantly cycling it again and again You can do it with a metronome or even without.. but the idea is that you do a really small fragment of the lick and play it a lot faster and then pause at the end. Eventually play the whole lick.. play it once really fast... pause.. do it again etc. It's like acclimatising your hands to work faster but not by allowing them to fatigue.. hence the need to pause between reps. I hope that makes sense. Ben This post has been edited by MisterM: Jun 24 2016, 05:33 PM |
