UI looks good, looks like the best bit of the others all put into one package, think it's about time to get rid of that old wooden floor though unsure.gif

I'll be trying it out but it has to be good to beat TH-U imho, especially at the price.

They made an odd announcement, I thought it was being released but turns out it may be released anytime in the next 3 months.

Previous version users are super confused and the poor sales guy is trying to answer all of their questions. On quick look, their upgrade path does seem complicated...

But yeah I'll at-least try the free version, they're pretty much giving away a jcm800 which is always fun to test.

Maybe its a strategic approach, everyone estimates winter will be hard not only virus related but economic too so they're getting preorders as soon as possible.

I wonder what kind of power computer will be needed for low latency?

Mine should be fine, I bet a lot of people buy things like this and TH-U without realising the hunger of the program.

Very true! I noticed that some bits reminded me of THU! It seems the little company from Italy is influencing guitar plugins smile.gif It won't be as good as THU from the look of it, but they have added dual signal paths etc. I'll still download and try it smile.gif

They claim 600 ir's per cabinet yet still make it possible to load your own, I'm most curious about this feature.

But from the looks of it and what I remember of amplitube, its strength is in numbers=more expensive bundle's unlike the affordable thu options. I'm also curious how it will sell as since a few years now the trend went boutique/specialized solutions instead of big boys like amplitube.

is it just me or is the UI starting to look a bit like OVERLOUD THU?

There is a free version (not trial) that gives you the basics and you can buy components as you go along.

https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitube5cs/

Interesting, maybe you all knew but I didn't, when you set up an account there is a tick box that says "I hereby authorize Fender Musical Instruments Corporation to process my personal data for marketing purposes, limited to products developed under the Fender license"

You also get this free https://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?id=freememoryv

UPDATE:
Immediate reaction it seems too complicated, TH-U was so easy out of the box, I think it has a much steeper learning curve than TH-U but not necessarily super hard. I can't see how to get a demo of the MAX version, I've installed the Custom Shop but it's pretty limmited.

Looks like a design made for ipad, I guess to have more screen space (as ipad/phone screens are small) everything is accessed by parts/sections. Yeah I also find it un-intuitive.

Demo's sound very good, a pleasant studio-room sound so new cab.s does seem to make a difference. But there is a heaviness to the tones I just can't see myself feeling good when playing fast stuff. Maybe backing guitars AT and solo's THU would make a cool combo, but imho 1 choice makes things way less complicated.

+1

After a bit more testing, their preset mentality isn't working for me either. With THU (and likely kemper though I never used one), presets based on amp is much better for me. With amplitube its like a synth preset database like genre, neck pickup...no thanks.

Also I had a feeling they are much less devoted to making high-gain tones and cleans often drowned by fx. It's not like there aren't cools sounds in there but I guess not for me mostly.

Yep, it's odd that when you close it down it asks if you want to save the SONG!!!!!

TH-U is just like having a room full of gear and patch cables and your own guitars, much better for me, Amplitube, for me, is just too convoluted huh.gif It's a strange piece of software imho
