Lo and behold - a new lead is coming your way!
This time we get adventurous with
hybrid picking - and use it in all sorts of licks and faster runs. Since this technique lies close to my heart, I tend to gravitate towards it no matter the circumstances. And it makes sense, because hybrid picking can be used for:
* punchy, expressive blues licks
* unpredictable fusion lines using one note per string
* fast legato passages where precision is needed in the string switches
So without further ado, let's get into it -
The solo is in the key of
C minor and uses heavy
swing phrasing at times.
For sound I used my Gibson LPJ with Bareknuckle Boot Camp Old Guard pickups.
The amp is a real Mark V Crunch channel, going through a modeled speaker setup: A vintage 4x12 Marshall mic'd up with a R-121 and an sm-57.
