In this lesson we look at rhythmically shifting where we begin our licks/phrases to recycle old licks and create new sounds

Second installment of the Phrase Displacement exercises.

Show some lick that will give a fresh sound to the old and over used pentatonic. Two concept in particular will spice things up: Rhythmic Displacement and Accent Shifting. This lesson will improve: Pentatonic Knowledge, Phrasing, Rhythmic Displacement, Accent Shifting and Sweep Picking.

Let's work a little more on downstrokes, power chords and rhythm discplacement. Also - we will explore a cool interval: flat 5, which has a powerful sound to it.

This lesson covers three different chicken pickin' licks that can be used in rhythm or lead playing. It stresses the use of hybrid picking along with double-stops and pentatonic scales.

This is an example of how to mix Rhythm & Blues with Funk, or Funk with Blues feeling. I mix the 16th notes for funk feeling with the triplets for rhythm & blues feeling. You will find rhythm and solo parts here.
