Gabriel Leopardi4th June 2007Thanks lefty! I'm using the neck pick up of my beatifull les paul, an old Marshall Valvestate and a mic Shure sm 57 to record the sound in Nuendo software.
lefty0130th May 2007Great to see someone playing Malmsteen with a Les Paul. Maybe there is hope for me yet. Keep up the great work.
May I ask what you are using to get such a fantastic tone?
Gabriel Leopardi9th May 2007Gustavo: Just keep the position every day (without playing) and then your fingers will do it easier.
Gustavo6th May 2007in the 2nd video my finger can't press de 7fret and the 13fret at the same time :'(
Ryan6th May 2007thank you gab, couldnt tell if you were sometimes or not

Gabriel Leopardi5th May 2007yes Ryan, and I mute a bit those string with my right hand to make it sound good and clean.
Gustavo: Si!! es parecido a Preludio y tambien a Rising Force de Malmsteen. Preludio es un muy buen ejercicio para sweeps de 2 cuerdas.

Hi GMC!! Welcome to Yngwie Malmsteen lesson 3!
This is one of my favourite’s lesson. This is a two strings sweep picking etude in that begins in A major and finally modulates to C at the end. Sweep picking is one of the most used techniques used by Malmsteen. If you don’t know this technique check the Pavel’s Sweeping lessons in this site and pay attention to the closer shots of my right hand movements.
I used the A minor scale and the different arpeggios of every progression’s chord to compose the solo.
Chord progression:
Am – Am – Am – Am – E/G# - E/G# – E/G# - E/G# - C – C – C – C – G – G – G – G – F – F – C – C – F – F - G – G – C –
Tempo: 206 bpm
Practice every part slowly with metronome and be patient!
Bye
Gabriel.-
