  • Hi and welcome to my new lesson. Yngwie Malmsteen is one of the most popular and often emulated guitarists of all time and for a good reason.

However, it takes time to build strong foundations and it can be boring for a beginner or intermediate guitar player who just wants to play like their favourite guitarists. With this mind, I've created a lesson that has the Yngwie trademarks but it simple enough for you to learn. Hopefully this will act as a gateway to the Yngwie sound and inspire you to continue to improve your abilities.

    This lesson will work on:

    -Picking
    -Vibrato
    -Bending
    -Sweep picking
    -Scale runs

I'm a firm believer in using music itself to improve technique gradually, rather than working on exercises. So, although the solo itself is very simplified
it is still a musical solo rather than a collection of notes. This should give you, the player, more satisfaction as you play along to something and make it sound better with continued improvement.

If this is your first foray into the world of Yngwie Malmsteen and neoclassical guitar then enjoy!
