Overview
I always wanted to play guitar everywhere! And I never understood why are we always forced to have those big amps with us to play electric guitar…So I started to buy an acoustic guitar in order to play while I’m on holidays but I still missed my electric guitar…But last week I discovered what I always dreamed about : the smallest amp ever! I first thought it was going to be very expensive but when I saw the price I jumped on my feet and ran to the nearest music store to try it.
The questions that may come to your head >>>
Does it sound nice? Yes for an amp of that size and with good Headphones it sounds really cool! It may be not the sound of a real good amp but it is good enough to play during hours and hours.
What do I need? Good Headphones, two AAA batteries, a guitar and you can rock on!
Where can I play? Absolutely everywhere! I tried it while cooking, in my garden, in the bathroom ( even in the toilets if you have food processing issues )
Features
On the Amplug you have a Volume button, a Tone button and a Gain button and of course an On/Off button. You have also a headphone entry and an AUX entry for MP3s CDplayers (haven’t tried it yet).
You have 3 Amplug types :
- AC30 : emulates the AC30 top boost sound of a vintage VOX AC30
- Classic Rock : high-gain sound of a UK-made 100W amp
- Metal : US high-gain metal sound...this one is for metal heads!
I tried the Classic Rock and Metal one. I bought the Metal one because the Classic Rock does not have enough gain for me (but it is more a question of tastes). The best thing is to try it you can also have a look on the official website: http://www.voxamps.co.uk/amplug/

I would say that it is really cool to be able to bring your guitar everywhere with this small little amp ! You can play everywhere without making noise and you will never again let your beloved guitar alone in the dark
