Note: I never really pay attention to lyrics therefor I won't give a review of the lyrics.
I gotta start off by saying that I never heard too much of radiohead's music before, mostly the occasional radiohead song popping up in the radio, but after hearing their latest album I'm hooked. Their sound is so simple, yet addicting, every note sounds as if it's chosen really carefully, every note has a meaning, the vocalist unique voice blends perfectly with the mellow melodies playing in this album, but this is also the aspect that might turn some people off, the entire album is soft, but radiohead are known for not doing any heavy music. I wasn't expecting much when I bought the album because it has been about 4 years since they released an album, but they still got it, and unlike some other bands that experience commercial and critical success their not "selling out" and never change their style of music.
Guitar and other instrumentalization
All the instruments form this sort of relaxing vibe, from the warm guitar in Faust Arp to the cool piano touches in All I Need, no real solo's in this Album, but sometimes the song will go on a small instrumental segment, which allways feels right in place, just listen to the part where the piano comes in All I Need.
I'm hooked on this album, listening to it feels like going on a journey, I especially enjoy just lying outdoors on my swing bench and puting the cd in the background, and just think about everything, so if you want to just take a relaxing musical journey, get away a bit from all the noise and the stress of everyday life, you should give this album a listen, oh and did I mention you can get it for any price you'r willing to pay? meaning you could also get it for free(!), so go to their site at www.inrainbows.com and download it from there.
