Rhapsody Of Fire

Rhapsody Of Fire is a Power Metal band from Italy who 1997 with their first album, Legendary Tales revulutionesed the way power metal should sound. They like to call their own music for "Film Score Metal". In this new genre they blended movie soundtrack sounds in the style of composers like Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer and Basil Poledouris togheter with heavy riffs and and singing from the fantasy genre. They have realesed 8 albums and one live DVD/Documantry.

The Band was formed by Luca Turilli and Alex Staropoli in 1990 when they meet at during a stage of mental technuiqes(a place where you learn to have more controll over your mind). After the course they decided to talk over a dinner and there they found out that they liked the sam bands and had the sama musical influences, so the agreed to meet again. In 1991 Luca and Alex spended the spring and summer composing their first songs. Sometimes they composed their music on the top of mountains using the landscape for inspiration. They also found Daniele Carbonera who would become the drummer in the band. In 1994 they recorded their first demo called Land Of Immortals with contained the songs, Land of Immortals, Warrior of Ice, Rage of the Winter and Riding the Winds of Eternity. All theese tracks appeared later on the two first albums. In the end of the year the got a very enthusiastic offer from the record company LMP of Limb Schnoor. In 1995 they realesed their official demotape, Eternal Glory and the band got their first positiv rewievs. In 1996 they prapared songs for their first studio album, Lagendary Tales and the band hit the studio in October. They continued recording the album and at the same time develope new ideas. Then they meet Fabio Lione who was the best singer the band could ever dream of. The recording of Lagendary Tales ended in June 1997. Luca and Alex kept composing new songs and work on some old ones. They began to call their music for Hollywood Metal and they recorded their second album Symphony Of The Enchanted Lands with was realesed in 1998. In 2000 it was announced that their drummer Daniele Carbonera was going to leave the band and that Alex Holzwarth was going to replace him. The band went on their first tour togheter with Stratovarius with was a great oppertunity for the band to meet some of the Rhapsody fans. Later that year they finnished the recording of their third album called Down Of Victory. Some of the songs on this album showed a mor aggresive approach in their music. In 2001 they played in five festivals in europe and they did their first South American tour. They also had time to finnish a new album called Rain Of A Thousand Flames. The next album Power Of The Dragonflame was realesed in march 2002 and the band had their first headlining tour in europe with lots of special effects, drama, guest actors and a majestic stage. In 2003 Luca and Alex composed new songs and the band began recording of a new mini album called The Dark Secrets. The band started working with a orchestra for the next album, Symphony Of The Enchanted Lands II The Dark Secrets. The band also invited Christopher Lee(Famous as Saruman from Lord Of The Rings) to be a guest storyteller for the upcomming album. The band started working with a great management consisting of Joey DeMaio and Hinrich Sturken of Magic Circle Music. They would help the band in the comming years. Symphony Of The Enchanted Lands was realesed in 2004 and it got very possitive feedback all over the world. With this album the band had created a trademark of how the compose their music now. This unique style come to known as, Filmscore Metal.
