I use a Line 6 Pod HD 500 for the lessons and also as a multiFx to play live. With my band I play with a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier head and a Marshall 1960b cabinet. I also have an old Marshall mod 8080 that nowadays I only use for practising at home.
The only secret here is PRACTICE.

Haha A year from now it will only take my like 1 minute to play em all ! I love that lesson I already went through I just cant quite yet play it at the tempo that you did . My only problem is I'm not sure how to play over a backing track ?!?

Hi man! Thanks for this take. You learnt the lesson correctly but it needs some days of practice. You have to try to avoid muting some notes from the arpeggio melodies and also to make the chords changes smoother. Regarding the distorted chords, there is something wrong every time you play the third chord, please check that chord in the tab and compare to what you are playing. Continue playing this lesson during this week and concentrate on those things.

Hi mate! Thanks for this new take! It's a great decision to post your progress the more frequent possible. I can notice an improvement comparing this take with the previous one. You are more comfortable with the sections. There are some wrong notes here and there but the overall is ok. Keep on practising it for some days, and let's start working on a new one! It's a good idea but instead of making questions, let's choose a song that you like and I want you to analize it. Please post some options and I will help you choose. Also I would like to continue working on musical lessons but this time also concentrating on how it was composed. Then I will give you some lessons or links to continue learning theory. Well, this is the method that I use to analyze songs. I study lots of songs using this template and then compare all of them and try to create theories and conclusions about the tools more used in different styles/bands/songs that I like:
Song Analysis: Name of the song: Name of the band: Structure // What is happening? // Chords & Scales Structure: You will divide the tune in Intro - Riff - Verse - Prechorus- - Chorus - Solo - Part C and so... You can add the letters A, B, C to the sections when you find different ones in the same tune (Ex: Verse A, Verse B, Chorus, Solo A, Solo . what is happening?: Here you will describe each part. You can explain how is the part, if it has vocals, screams, melodies, harmonizations, how much is last, how many measures, etc. Every information that could be useful to understand the part. Chords & Scales: Here you will post the tonality, the chord progression and the scales used for the melodies and solos. -------------------- My lessons

I am playing in drop D using 6th string rooted power chords There are only 2 guitar parts as far as I can tell . The intro and bridge are the same ,and the verse's and chorus's are the same ( I think ) As far as I can tell the Intro part is a F#-A-B-A-B-A-B. The verse and chorus is just F#-A repeating . Well, that's not right mate. The song is in Bm. The first chord that appears is B minor, try to play it over the song when it appears and notice that it sounds the same. Then your have other 3 chords in the introduction. So the progression would be
Bm - ? - ? - ? - and it's repeated many times. They are tuning in 440. Try to first find the bass note of each chord, playing just one note on the lower string to find the chord. Could you try to find those 3 chords? -------------------- My lessons

Hi Jesse. The chords from the chorus are (Bm - G - A - D - Bm - G - A). Play the progression over the song and try to identify the chords. The chorus uses the same chords but in a different order, maybe you could try to discover it.

The correct progression for the chorus is: G - D - A - E - G - A - Bm - A. There were some differences with the verse's chords...

Great job man! I recommend you to save this analysis and keep on doing the same thing with as many songs as you like/can. You will start noticing what are the structures, progressions, ways of arranging most used in your favorite songs and this will give you tools to work on your own compositions. One thing that really helps me to understand the progressions used is to also write the progression in roman numbers. That would make easier to understand exactly the relationship between chords. Let's start with another song now.
