Hi mate! Awesome work! You have been working very hard and the results are there. Thanks for posting all these videos here to let me monitor different sides of your practice. Let me share some comments:

- The funky chords are sounding good. Try to make it sound even groovier and with more dynamics. Give it more life.
- The rhythm video sounds excellent as well as the tightness etude.
- Your vibrato video is on the right track but the technique needs to be more consistent and regular. Keep on working on it.
- Land of legato is also getting close and the main thing to improve on this one is timing. Focus on it while you do the legato.

I think that you could start working on a new rhythm lesson, continue working on vibrato and legato lessons and start working on Melodic Yoppe lesson which will make you apply both techniques in a more musical context.

What do you think?

Hi Gabriel smile.gif
Thank you very much for your time and comments! I agree with your ideas 100%, I'll keep doing the vibrato and legato lessons, and I will add Yoppe's melodic and a new rhythm lesson.
I was thinking of adding this one, it seems in line with the other rhythm lessons :

Hi Gabriel smile.gif

Thank you for your quick response to my PM

I was thinking about maybe a four lessons routine,

one lesson would involve different techniques in a melodic context, and the three others would be lessons that ideally focus on one particular technique.

For now I am practicing this one everyday : https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...picking-thirds/

For the rest of the lessons I have started to learn a few but I somehow can't decide what to focus on...

Hi mate! I think that your idea sounds good. Based on your suggestions and also on the things that we have been working and that need more practice I think that your guitar routine for this week could look like this:

Alternate Picking

Legato

Expression
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Melodic-Yoppe/

Hi Gabriel smile.gif

I'm practicing the lessons you assigned me, I'm making progress.
I think I'm not too far from getting Dio style right smile.gif

As for the rest, I'm doing my best tongue.gif

I also posted a REC today, please check it out!

Hi Gabriel!

I send you a quick video to show you my progress over the legato lesson.
I'm still struggling with playing the notes evenly and aligned with the drums... but yeah here it is :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLJunuGpB_4...eature=youtu.be

I have learned a few licks from the String bending lesson and I did'nt bother playing it over a backing track yet. For now I'm focusing on reaching the correct pitch with the bends.
I also learned Hole style entirely and I need to practice it over the backing track.

any tip/feedback would be greatly appreciated smile.gif

Hi mate, thanks for the update. The legato lesson is sounding good. It's clean and the notes have a good intensity. As you commented, there are still some timing issues while you play the phrases. I notice that you tend to play a bit after the beat, so try to think on the notes a bit before to cheat your mind. biggrin.gif The problem appears mostly when you change the direction of your legato, from hammer on to pull off. That change is giving the most important issues. I can see that you are not tapping with your foot while you play the lesson, have your tried it? It will really help you to feel the groove while you play and be able to concentrate on technique.

That's very interesting! I didn't notice that. Thank you for bringing it out to me!
It should be easier to adjust my playing with this information. smile.gif

Yes! I am practicing foot tapping as you suggested but it still feels really weird... I can only tap in rhythm for a few beats before my leg goes wild and taps all around the place randomly...

Ok, please keep on practicing applying this ideas and focusing on timing. It's tricky to play tight legatos, so this is a normal issue that will be solved with some more practice. Recording yourself is fundamental to be able to check the progress of this.
