This is to build-up a selection of links to professional quality products that can be downloaded and aren't limited in some way eg. 14 day trials.

Here's my top picks for starters. I know some of you already have these but this is to keep all the good stuff together and easy to find for everyone.

Native Instruments:

Kontakt 4 Player and intro K4P Library - http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/pro...nload/?page=781

Kore 2 Player (includes library of sounds and effects): http://co.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=koreplayerdl

Holiday Selection 2009 for Kore Player: http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/pro...selection-2009/

Add anything you like such as mastering software, VST instruments and effects, DAWs, etc. as long as they are very good quality and free (no pirate links please!)

I started a post like this a while ago for free plug-ins: HERE!

But I'll post my links in this thread as well in case anyone missed it smile.gif

LUXONIX LFX-1310

A great multieffect plug-in which sounds brilliant and is easy to work with.
This is probably my favourite amongst the freeware plug-ins.

- S'Filter 12 / S'Filter 24 / 3-band EQ
- Peak Compressor / RMS Compressor
- Overdrive / Distortion / Amp Distortion
- Crusher / LP Noise / Stereo Image
- Chorus / Flanger / Phaser / Auto Wah / Tremolo / Auto Pan
- Delay / Stereo Delay / Ping-pong Delay
- Gate Reverb / Room Reverb / Hall Reverb / Spring Reverb

DigitalFishPhones - The Fish Fillets

3 great plug-ins with different capabilities.

Blockfish:
A versatile compressor with countless ways to shape the incoming audio.
This one sounds pretty good on drum tracks!

Spitfish:
Great de-esser, aimed mainly at mono or stereo vocal tracks.

Floorfish:
A simple expander/ gate device.
Easy to set up and offers a broad variety of processing.

Kjaerhus Audio - Classic Series

If you're on a Windows-based system, this is the Holy Grail of free plug-ins! smile.gif

9 GREAT plug-ins for almost any situation.

Classic Autofilter
Classic Chorus
Classic Compressor
Classic Delay
Classic EQ
Classic Flanger
Classic Master Limiter
Classic Phaser
Classic Reverb

These all sound great and I'm pissed off that they're not for OSX... laugh.gif
Check them out if you know what's good for you!

Solid State Logic - LMC-1

Great free Compressor from Solid State Logic.

Voxengo Boogex

A Guitar Amplifier/ Impulse Loader plug-in.
It is possible to get heavy distorted sound as well as slight distortion sound.
Boogex is also able to apply any speaker cabinet impulse response (selection of built-in impulses is available).

BTE Audio - Juicy 77

A high-gain electric guitar amplifier plug-in.
It's a freeware plug-in, so don't expect to put out a hit record with this..
But can you get some decent tones for practice and demo recording? Absolutely smile.gif

E-Phonic Tape Delay

A very simple tape delay effect for creating that specific tape delay sound.
Sounds good and is easy to use.

Arguru Software - Stardust

Stardust is a powerful plug-in for channel processing, or mastering.
Stardust has 5 processing stages : Bass Enhancer, Treble Enhancer,
Stereo Enhancer, Multi-band Compressor, Wideband Compressor.
Almost each stage has a VU meter or oscilloscope for monitoring purpose.

Illformed - Glitch

Glitch chops up your audio in real-time and applies a variety of effects
which can either be chosen at random, manually sequenced, or a mixture of both.
The sounds it generates range from quite subtle to extremely bizarre,
depending on how much you tweak the controls.

If you're bored or want to play around, this is great biggrin.gif

Edit:
ACME BAR GIG

Lots of Guitar Amp Simulators, ranging from Clean to Mean, Head to Preamps etc.
This might just spice up your recordings the way you want!
Windows only I believe, but awesome plug-ins smile.gif

TC Electronics had a promotion a while ago, sharing the M30 reverb plugin. It's not much, but it's usable wink.gif

I bought the BBE Sonic Maximizer plugin from these guys. They have a set of 3 tools - Phaser, Sweeper and Tremolo for free:
