The "Chicken Pickin' Etude: Level 1" lesson introduces the fundamentals of chicken picking. We focus on both the left and right hands.
In the left hand we outline major and minor dyads in the first inversion, a common technique/phrasing in chicken picking. We also utilize hybrid picking which is covered with camera close-ups.
For a basic chicken picking tone I am using the bridge pickup on my Tele, a compressor, and slapback digial delay into a clean Fender-style amp. These techniques will directly build into the level 2 lesson.
