  • My first video lesson with GMC is a chicken pickin' solo in the key of A.
While this solo briefly covers many techniques, future lessons will explore each of them in depth.

The solo starts off with a lick based on the blues pentatonic scale. It utilizes the scale's flexible 3rd (major or minor). The beauty of chicken picking is that you can use lots of scales and licks that you already know. It's all about playing within the style.

    Enjoy!
