Thanks, will think about it
very helpful, can you do this same thing for the hirojoshi scale, hehe, that would be sweet
In the scale diagrams you'll find that it says '2nd position' where it should be 3rd. No worries though, still a cool lesson:)
Great idea, very useful lesson Zsolt!
Definitely useful lesson, and needed for any player!
Thank you, my friends!
Many people, especially jazz and progressive players underestimate pentatonic scale, which is the very first scale, oldest one that is to say! The fact is that it's very useful, it's like semi-arpeggio!
awesome lesson man! love it!
BTW, difficulty is more like 5
Very nice video quality man! And cool lesson

Hi GMC-ers!
Welcome to another in series of Modal Madness. Some months ago some of you guys asked me to do another Modal Madness lesson but with a Pentatonic scale, so here it is.
This lesson is fairly easy to play. It contains all the modes of the A pentatonic scale. The technique we use here is legato, so the lesson would be more easier to learn.
This is a simple exercise, but the timing is very important. Use a metronome to practice this lesson, first at a slower tempo, and eventually working it up to a higher tempo. When you have it down, try to incorporate it to your own style. You might use only a few from the modes here in your own solo, but the point here is to use it whenever you can.
In this lesson contains the following techniques:
- Legato
- Vibrato
In this lesson my guitar is tuned a whole step down, that means : D, G, C, F, A, D.
Have fun practicing!
