  • Hello again. Welcome to another phrasing and dynamics lesson, I have a lot of fun creating these, because it challenges me to be creative over simple chord progressions.

Ever since I started playing the guitar for MenO it has been a real challenge to put my own personal touch to the music, having played metal for a long time it was hard to get used to less distortion and less speed.

This solo right here is a new version I recently made for GMC on top of a MenO song called little story, the ideas were taken from what I do when we play this live, I always improvise something, and here I took some of those ideas and made a solo, and ended up nice in my opinion.

Again here you should concentrate on phrasing and dynamics, having very little distortion allows for this, because you significantly change the loudness of a certain lick simply by playing harder or softer, with too much distortion this effect is gone.

This time the key is C# minor, another favorite, so theoretically it is very simple, this single scale will do.

    CHORDS:
    C# minor, B Major, A Major

    Have fun

    Jose
