This is probably my favorite. I jam to this all the time. You make Ying Yang sound good.
hey great solo are there any more backing tracks?
also what are scalloped frets like and whats the benifit of them?
seriously great solo
You just slaughtered Malmsteen ! You are seriously in trouble Marcus...
Amazing!
Love the solo
... O_o Awsome I'm just amazed that someone has been able to produce so good solo which has something for everyone
I can now nail the first part so I'm now working on the second one but well I still got "some" training to do with my speed
Great style, great solo, great lesson.
Thx
Yeah, I finally manage to nail it all down lol
Gotta aquire speed now.
I'm really having a great time with this lesson !
Thanks Marcus !
This.... This....
Brb, gotta go find my mind which you have successfully blown away.
Marcus... If there is one solo that could litteraly kill me, just by sound, its this one! HOLY ! Its just... amazing!
Marcus we want more your lessons. You`re the best man;)you have so much feeling for guitar and technique, please share it with us:)
Thanks Markus with a "k"
Hehe ... I always wanted the tabs of that solo ... Although i ll never get this one, i love it so much ;-) You and Trond and of course the other awesome guitarmasterclass teachers are my reasons for joining ...
Incredible awesome
Good wishes from Markus with "k" ;-)
@ Gwasi
This solo is just meant to be a lesson in three difficult levels, so I haven't given it a proper name. Sorry about that! I know it's confusing since I also have a Three-level-lesson series...
From now on I'll give the solos real names!
Hey Marcus, does this solo have a name? I keep referring to it as 'The Three Level Solo' and would rather call it by its proper name. Thanks
cool!
i have to practice loads before i send it
dont want it to sound messy !
@ shideru_guitar
Of course! I'd love to hear your improvised version!
hey marcus can i send u the improvised version i done for this solo.
as i cant do the advanced part yet, i made a differnt ending.
what do u think ?
@Jeff
Pi38 is right. I use a Cry Baby Wah for that part, but I turn it off when that lick is over
I think he kicked it in at that part, because as soon as it turned on he got up and put a little weight on it so it would click on.
Marcus,
Do you kick the wah pedal in at the part on video 4, the legato stuff, or do you have it on during the whole song and use it in other passages?
This is still the BEST FREAKIN SOLO in the whole GMC !
Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!!!!!
thanks Marcus
I love the way you play, i'll have to practice a lot to be as good as you are.
Still my FAV. on Gmc-Cheers Marcus
Amazing marcus! Brilliant!
Anyway
Best in GMC!!
@ Pizzoaro
No, I just bend the 12th fret on the B-string there. And I bend it up to 'D' (three frets/half notes).
In the beginner video... when u bend the 12th fret, what are u doing there? I cant make it sound right... Are u doing this:?
E -9------
B -12b----
=
ok, cause i use like 011, and its hard to bend... it hurts:P
Thanks Pizzoaro
When I recorded this lesson I think I used 09-46
How thick strings you use? 0.10?
Wow... this was reaaly cool, ive learned so much from this lesson... thank you marcus:)
Thank you Bulletproof! Let me know if you have any questions
Wow....this will take me a while to get down...honestly...simply amazing Marcus.
Thanks guys!!
@ quackquack
- I'm really sorry about that, hope you're ok!
my jaw just hit the floor.
yeah, definetly some malmsteen. Incredible, one day, I will play like that....in a ska band
woow..like yngwie malmsteen
You're very welcome Marcus..
Thanks for your kind comments Iced696
Inspiring to say the least. I find myself logging on to the site even when I don't have time to play just to grab a little inspiration from this before I go to work.
Thank you so much, Ben! I appreciate your comments!
Great to hear about Israel. Send my regards to everyone there!
Btw, I have some cousins living in Israel
just wanted to say that I listening to
your lessons all the time they are just beautiful
pieces!!! and you have a lot of funs in Israel
every one that see you play just blown away!!!
when is the next lesson???? you cant keep me
waiting anymore
Ben N
@ The JEM
I also think it's fun to play that lick!
Just practice slow and consistent, and I'm sure you'll be able to play the other parts as well!
that legato lick on video 7 has to be one of the funnest runs i've done in legato terms. too bad i can barely play the rest of these parts
still cant get over how awesome this is!!!!!!!
Artisticaly Excellent...
technicaly quite a little difficult and perhaps more...
thanks Marcus
what can i say?? this is the most beautifull solo i have ever heard no keeding!!
this kind of style is what i love the most
when excellent technique meet a fantastic feel!!
Marcus your the man
This is beyond excellent. I'm starting to wonder if you're human, Marcus...
What a phenomenal lesson, yet again.
Marcus,
Thanks.... I'm going to get the Podxt Live and I'm pretty sure your patches should work on it. What brand wah are you using? I've got a bunch of questions for you but I will keep it short for the moment. Keep on rocking and great job on the lessons!
Joe
@ RUMA:
I use the PODxt.
-Marcus
Are you using the podxt or podxt live?
i'm impressed, all your solos have a really good feel, i love those wah in the advanced solo:P
No other guitar site will ever have lessons this good. Other than that, well everything's been said already.
More often than not, I find it unnecessary to add even more acclaim to a long list of compliments. This, however, is an exception.
Marcus, your blend of stunning speed, technique AND melodic feel, is absolutely breathtaking. The last detail, the final note, is what separates an awesome guitarist from a guitar giant! I have watched/listened to that not twenty times already, and will probably do it fifty times more over the next days.
Respect!
Ahh!..so good
Once again you leave me in awe. Amazing job on the entire thing, you should have more three-level-lessons lead into eachother like this one did (beginner, intermediate, advanced). How Yngwie himself isn't bowing down to you is beyond me.
Well to say the least If I can play the intermidiate one I suppose im making progress towards this one
- John
I just can´t stop watching this video!! It almost makes me a little emotional;) I wich there was a replay button on this video.. hehehe
If i ever learn to play this solo that great I will cry emotional tears while I play it;)
I also checked out your yngwie malmseen medley on youtube... Damn, you play it cleaner/better than yngwie himself:)
Rock on!
Kjetil
Holy Teledo, I've got a ways to go... Hopefully this lesson will be posted 5 years from now
Dude im speechless except for a few words...U R GOD!
Markus, Are you kidding me with this???!!! Thats not a lesson. Thats, I'm a peacock, watch me strut my stuff! Holly ****, how good are you? Mesmerizing to say the very least. I love the way you make that guitar scream. Its primordial.
Boris
Btw, Your solos don't tab out worth a damn. Thats the best complement I can give you
FREAKING INCREDIBLE!! I guess that makes me a beginner!
-Kiz
crap... im never playing guitar again. hahahaa
i dont even know him and i look bad.
THAT WAS AMAZING. i like how spontaneous it is
that was awesome from start to finish.I like how you ended it with the last note especially
wow..... what more can i say?
You continue to amaze me, great lesson, even better solo.
man i always get goosebumps when a guys knows how to treat a strat...the ending is so great awesome stuff again
unbelievable.... it just looks so relaxed how the hell do you do it....yeah i know ....lots of practice ..but still, unbelievable
No way I can play that man. But, I love to watch it! This is awesome Marcus!
Awesome work.
I see that you played it as one solo first, excellent idea.

Jez you almost killed me with that one. Good job
I'm speechless ...
Wow,you ripped it Marcus,hat down!!!
